The Carroll County Sheriff's Office has two primary divisions, which are the law enforcement and jail division with each of these being subdivided into different operational divisions and units. The law enforcement division is primarily responsible for patrol, investigations, court services, traffic enforcement and other units. The Carroll County Jail is housed in the Jack T. Bell Detention Center. The facility was designed to house 597 inmates. There is also a separate female housing unit, with a capacity of 85 beds. The Carroll County Sheriff's Office is located in Carrollton, Ga., and employs approximately 170 people.
