History
In the fall of 1998 Pamela Dionne with boom box in hand began teaching at the local YWCA in the Virginia Highlands neighborhood of Atlanta, GA. Community support was immediate. Three years later this positive interest necessitated a move into a larger, dedicated space located in Inman Park. The Northeast In-town YWCA Ballet Program became Studio Dionne. The core program of adult ballet and children's pre-school dance was expanded to include Jazz, Modern, body conditioning and a full children's curriculum. CityDance, a not for profit entity was formed to support community outreach and a scholarship program. Less than five years later Studio Dionne moved into its current 8,000 sq ft intown location. Architect designed and custom built the school features three free-floating state of the art dance studios, two music rooms, to facilitate the addition of a music program, dressing rooms, a costume shop and generous lobby. Our school is now known as Atlanta Dance and Music.
