History
While a staff member at a local private school, I participated in their tutoring program several years after my graduation. I enjoyed tutoring so much I began tutoring in tutoring centers and colleges. I decided to begin my own private tutoring in local libraries instead of renting a dedicated tutoring center since it allows tutoring fees to be only about half as much. It is convenient for the student or parent for tutoring sessions to be near their home. The majority of my experience is with high school and college students although increasingly I am teaching basic math skills and reading to younger pupils. The real impact of tutoring comes when a student who perhaps has been struggling begins to thrive in their studies. Increases in achievements are usual. Since I have morning as well as afternoon and evening hours available, I particularly enjoy tutoring home school students during the traditionally school hours. I welcome discussions and questions about academic issues.
Specialties
High school, college, middle school, and elementary school students are tutored in math, science, and language arts. Preparation for standardized tests like all parts of the SAT and ASVAB is recommended. Morning, afternoon, and evening hours are available at local libraries for one-on-one or group tutoring. I have many years of effective tutoring experience at tutoring centers and colleges. Credentials: Bachelor of Science Chemistry / Physics from Augusta State University. Most students request one to two hours per week on a regular basis. It is not necessary to sign a contract or agree to a minimum number of hours in advance. Payments are made on the day of tutoring. Typically, students are attending classes and desire assistance with learning their course work. It is popular for pupils to prepare for future courses in advance during their summer or other vacation time. I maintain a comprehensive website complete with free study helps.
