Young Blacks in Action, Inc. (YBA) is a community-based group in Orlando, FL, established in 1979. With a mission to develop the artistic talents and capacities of youth aged 4-21, YBA aims to promote self-actualization and elevate Orlando Area Youth through participation in Cultural Arts Programming. As a Central Florida tradition, YBA has proudly engaged over 10,500 young members, fostering their syncopated dance steps and percussion skills through dedicated practices.
Under the guidance of Director and Founder Howard Tate Gentry, YBA has become a renowned 501(c)(3) nonprofit Community Youth Organization. With a rich history spanning 44 years, YBA continues to inspire and empower its members, many of whom have gone on to participate in their Middle, High School, and College Bands, thanks to the training received in this esteemed organization.
