Founded in 1890, Winter Haven High School serves more than 1,800 students in grades 9 through 12. It is a part of Polk County Public Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. Winter Haven High School s academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as English, math, science and social studies. It also offers courses in agricultural science, business and technology education, and family and consumer science. The school supports a variety of extracurricular programs in art, drama, music and physical education. In addition, Winter Haven High School conducts foreign language sessions in French, German, Spanish and Latin and offers the English for Speakers of Other Languages program. It also supports various sports activities, such as baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, football, soccer, tennis, and track and field. The school operates several student organizations, including the National Honor Society, a student council, and art, drama and key clubs. Winter Haven High School is located in Winter Haven, Fla.
