Operated by the First Assembly of God Clearwater, United Family Outreach (UFO) is a food pantry that ministers to families in need. "The main purpose for UFO's existence is to provide spiritual food as well as physical food in the belief you first minister to the needs of man and then tell him about the One of whom they can trust and never go hungry again," says the church's Web site.
The congregation collects nonperishables in the lobby of the church (South Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue) Sunday mornings.
At 9:30 a.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, applications are accepted at the Wyatt Street UFO, and the pantry is open for clients to "shop" from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Parking is available in a small lot and there's a ramp to make the pantry fully accessible.
