The Olympia Theater opened in 1926 as downtown Miami's grandest silent movie palace and Vaudeville house. Better known today as the Gusman Center, the theater is home to live performances, films, community events, corporate meetings and social affairs. Adorned with a ceiling of twinkling lights and the illusion of floating clouds, the theater is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a member of the League of Historic American Theaters. The fully restored interiors feature sumptuous decor, soaring ceilings, a dramatic grand staircase and massive Spanish Baroque chandeliers.
