Sumter County Public Works is one of the departments of the Sumter County Government, engaged in providing a range of services for the citizens, guests and businesses of Sumter County. Based in Bushnell, Fla., the department is divided into four sub-departments that include mosquito control; parks and recreation; road and bridge; and solid waste. Sumter County Public Works' road and bridge department offer a variety of services including planning, design, construction and maintenance of public structures and utilities. Its mosquito control department handles service request from citizens, along with surveillance of mosquitoes and adulticiding. The department's park and recreation division maintains natural environment and landscaping in the county.
