Nabers Jewelers originated in Dade City in 1933 by Myron Naber. He was a watchmaker who started the store's long tradition of quality service. Thomas Vanater purchased Nabers Jewelers in 1982. Tom has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. He is also a graduate gemologist, member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers, and a candidate member of the American Society of Appraisers. He is also an experienced bench jeweler. When Tom got out of college in 1972, he went to work in New York City for a giftware company. He represented their line of giftware and jewelry in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and part of New York. Upon moving to Florida in 1976, he became employed as a manager for a national jewelry retail chain. When one of his suppliers learned he had experience as a sales representative they asked him to join them and represent them throughout Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi. He worked for them until he purchased Nabers. This gave Tom considerable experience in all aspects of the jewelry business -- retail manager, manufacturer's representative, bench jeweler, appraiser, and retail jewelry store owner. NABERS JEWELERS MISSION Our Mission at Nabers Jewelers is to offer our customers experienced, knowledgeable service and quality fine jewelry at a fine value.
