Founded in 1974, ResCare provides human care services and support to people with developmental and physical disabilities. Its home care services include medication assistance, respite care, daily chores, personal care and live-in support services. It offer services for youth, including residential care, foster care, wilderness program, emergency shelter, sexual offender program, charter school and private school. Arbor Education & Training is a part of the ResCare Family of Operations that assists more than 1,000 people every year, including welfare recipients, young people and unemployed individuals. Job Corps is a residential, educational and training program offered by ResCare for unemployed and undereducated youth, ages 16 to 24. It is accredited by the United States Department of Labor, and provides educational and vocational training. Located in Louisville, Ky., ResCare serves more than 32,000 people in over 32 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and Canada.
