The Reedy Creek Improvement District was created by the Florida Legislature in 1967 to provide a range of government services. The agency has expertise in the areas of emergency response, water control, public utilities, land use, building codes and financial services. It owns and operates collection and treatment systems for wastewater and solid waste products. The Reedy Creek Improvement District maintains a fleet of vehicles for the collection and transfer of recyclable and hazardous waste materials. The agency s personnel services department provides labor and employee relations consulting, employee counseling, staff recruitment and policy development solutions. In addition, it offers assistance with the selection of engineering, inspection and management professionals.
