The Florida Masonry Apprentice Educational Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization established in 2002 by the Masonry Association of Florida and the Florida Concrete Products Association. Their mission is to coordinate and provide education in the masonry trade, with a focus on expanding apprenticeship programs and offering training to the industry. As an Accredited Training Sponsor for NCCER, they sponsor over 100 high school and post-secondary programs, as well as programs in Juvenile Justice, Youth Build, Department of Corrections, and other re-entry programs.
With approximately 200 apprentices currently enrolled in ten apprentice programs throughout the state, the foundation is actively working to recruit and train new masons to meet the demand of the industry. Their strategic goals include increasing education efforts about apprenticeship to legislators and local workforce development boards, as well as maintaining existing apprenticeship feeder systems. By partnering with educational institutions, contractors, and government agencies, the Florida Masonry Apprentice Educational Foundation is dedicated to building a skilled and efficient masonry labor pool to ensure the competitiveness of the industry.
