Raymond James Stadium is a stadium located in Tampa, Florida. Raymond James stadium currently houses the NFL team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the NCAA team the USF Bulls. The stadium opened under its current name on September 20, 1998 with the construction taking just under two years at a cost of just over $186 million, $237 million in present day dollars. Raymond James Financial bought the naming rights in 1998 and signed an extension in 2006. The stadium was built to replace the aging Tampa Stadium.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are one time Super Bowl Champions and are members of the South Division of the National Football Conference within the NCAA. They are known by their team colors consisting of red, pewter, black and white. The current owner of the Buccaneers is Malcolm Glazer. The USF Bulls play in the Football Bowl Subdivision within the NFL. They are known by there team colors consisting of green and gold.
