History

Ponte Vedra United Methodist Church began as the south campus of Beach United Methodist Church in spring 2001. In January, 2003 we became Ponte Vedra United Methodist Church. Our present facility was completed in December, 2009.

HistoryAfter helping plant churches and ministries all around the world through Calvary International (now known as Go To Nations), Daniel and Sharon Williams recognized a need to plant a church in the Ponte Vedra area. After almost three years of prayer and consultation, four couples gathered in the Williams home in January of 1992 for the first service. In 1999, Redeemer Church moved to its current location in Ponte Vedra on Roscoe Boulevard. After serving Redeemer Church for 20 years as Youth Pastor and an Associate Pastor, Sean Yost became the Lead Pastor in May, 2012. In 2014, Pastor Sean, along with a core team, felt called to re-imagine Redeemer. New services were added and the name was changed from Christ the Redeemer Church to Redeemer Church. Today, we have a great combination of seasoned leaders as well as new emerging leaders. Our church has 20 years of rich history in the Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra & Nocatee areas with an exciting new vision for the future.
