Pompano Beach Water Department supplies more than 16,000 gallons of water to an average single-family residence. The department offers a range of information to residents on ways to conserve water. Apart from the water department, the city of Pompano Beach, Fla., operates a number of other departments, such as animal control, public works and building maintenance. The public works department maintains and constructs city streets, storm drains, catch basins and sidewalks. It is also responsible for the maintenance of waterways, medians, parks and playgrounds. The city nursery provides plants and trees for special events and city beautification. It also organizes events, such as the annual tree giveaway.
