Since 1966, the Neel Performing Arts Center has served as a cultural center for Manatee and Sarasota counties in Florida. Situated on the campus of Manatee Community College, it hosts both college and community sponsored events. The auditorium was remodeled in 1999 and features a 65-foot by 40-foot stage, seating for 837, as well as wheelchair accessible seating and restrooms. It also features the Elizabeth M. Eaton Memorial Pipe Organ, a 50-rank, 3-manual instrument built by master craftsman Charles McManis. Located on the south side of the building is the John W. James Studio Theatre, which is the home of Studio 84 Productions, the MCC student theatre company.
