The University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute, also known as UFPTI, is a nonprofit organization that specializes in providing a range of cancer treatment services. Established in 2006, it focuses on various disciplines, including engineering, health economics, space technology, medical and legal ethics, and computer and social science. The University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute conducts clinical trials for sarcoma, lymphoma, and prostate, pituitary, lung and pancreatic cancers. It offers radiation and proton therapy services for more than 100 patients per day. The organization conducts group outings and piano concerts for patients and their families. It also maintains a radiation oncology center. The organization is affiliated with the University of Florida College of Medicine. The University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute works in partnership with Shands Hospital.
