History
The South Miami Branch Library has existed to serve the surrounding community almost as long as the library system itself. There have been some light renovations since that time, some new coats of paint, but the library is like a time capsule filled with the memories of the diverse and vibrant people we have served over many years. The surrounding South Miami community, known as 'The City of Pleasant Living,' is mirrored in the library's history and traditions. Our patrons make use of our tranquil space and attend our public events - children's storytimes, book clubs, author meet & greets, tech device assistance, etc... Our staff is dedicated to curating a collection that adds value to our patrons' lives, paired with community outreach that helps provide social services that the public needs. Through excellent customer service and a focus on constant improvement, we seek to preserve the sense of contemporary newness that defined the South Miami branch when it was dedicated in 1978.
