The Marion County Transportation Department is committed to providing an efficient, economical and quality transportation and storm-water system to help satisfy diverse mobility needs while ensuring the safety and welfare of the general public and the preservation of the environment. Formerly known as The Marion County Engineering Department, it has reorganized to streamline functions and improve efficiency, productivity and service to its citizens. The department is organized into five divisions, including road, traffic, capital projects, storm-water and permitting. Located in Ocala, Fla., Marion County Department of Transportation and Roads employs nearly 105 people.
