Founded in 1957, The Indian Trail Improvement District was created by the Florida legislature. The district offers reclamations of lands for water control, water supply. It provides the construction and maintenance of canals, ditches, levees, dikes and pumping plants. The Indian Trail Improvement District provides drainage and road grading improvement services. Its administration department offers payroll and account services. The district additionally offers information on tax queries and resident operation and maintenance and permit requests for gates, culverts and parks. It undertakes road paving, stabilization and retrofit projects. The district also operates recreation and planning committees. The Indian Trail Improvement District serves over 45,000 residents and has a staff of over 60 employees.
