The Solid Waste Department is administered by the government of the City of Hialeah in Florida. The department is responsible for providing solid waste recycling services for individuals. It has a staff of more than 130 employees. The Solid Waste Department deals in the collection of garbage and trash, as well as offers recycling solutions. The department also collects yard waste and processes into mulch for municipalities and commercial landscape companies. It handles over 95,000 tons of solid waste annually. In addition, the Solid Waste Department offers waste billing adjustment and private waste hauler overseeing services and provides code enforcement on sanitation-related issues.
