Fish and Wildlife Research Institute is involved in the assessment and restoration of ecosystems. The institute conducts the studies of aquatic and terrestrial wildlife, imperiled species, red tides, and freshwater and marine fisheries. It offers an auditorium and conference rooms to hold meetings, seminars and workshops for government agencies. Fish and Wildlife Research Institute maintains facilities throughout Florida. The institute operates a research information center that has more than 6,000 books and over 150 journal subscriptions, as well as nearly 500 slides on marine systems. In addition, it develops information science required to analyze and disseminate research products. Fish and Wildlife Research Institute is a part of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
