History
Florida State Employees Federal Credit Union originated in 1961 with seven charter members. Business was conducted from an office located in the Florida State Employment Service building at 236 West Garden Street, and its first manager was Mr. Roscoe Manning. The Credit Union's field of membership covered employees of the state agencies in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, and later added Okaloosa and Walton counties to the field of membership. In 1973, the Credit Union purchased property and constructed an office at 305 West Gregory Street, at which time Mrs. Marie Courtney took over as manager. Upon her retirement, the West Gregory Street office was named the Marie Courtney Building. In 1986, the Credit Union amended its charter to include the University of West Florida alumni and later added the students of UWF into its field of membership. In 1996, Florida State Employees Federal Credit Union built another office on East Nine Mile Road, which is now the home office.
