The Florida High School Athletic Association, also known as FHSAA, is a nonprofit voluntary organization that works to promote, direct, supervise and regulate interscholastic athletic programs for youths. Operational for more than 87 years, the association sponsors championship programs through which more than 105 teams and over 720 student-athletes participate in nearly 30 sports tournaments annually. It provides athletic programs that focus on the development of leadership skills, sportsmanship and citizenship. The organization cooperates with the Florida Department of Education in the development of athletic programs that promote sportsmanship and fair play in all athletic contests. It organizes various sports tournaments, including bowling, cross-country, football, golf, soccer, volleyball, basketball and soccer. The Florida High School Athletic Association is located in Gainesville, Fla.
