History
First United Methodist Church of Homestead (FUMC) originated in 1909 and is the oldest church in Homestead. Initially a circuit church that shared membership between two churches until 1929. The initial origin of the two churches dates back to 1844. The original (in Homestead, Florida) site of the southern church was 102 NW Second street and the site of the Northern church was 334 NW First Street. Today FUMC resides a 622 North Krome Avenue. FUMC has much to offer it's members and visitors alike. FUMC ministries focus ministries include bible study, youth ministry, food pantry, children ministry, music/choir ministry, Spanish ministry and a wealth of actives related to and serving the homestead community. Sunday morning worship service is at 10:45 am in the Family Life Center. FUMC allow features a children nursery that opens at 9:15 am on Sunday. Bible Study is for all ages and begins at 6:15 PM on Wednesday and also makes available the children nursery from 6:15 PM to 7:30 PM.
