Dagmar Fredy Hernandez Suarez, M.D., is an interventional cardiologist at Baptist Health. Dr. Suarez specializes in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular disease. He is fluent in English and Spanish.Prior to joining Baptist Health in 2022, Dr. Suarez completed his interventional cardiology fellowship program at the New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Centerand his cardiovascular disease fellowship at the University of Puerto Rico. He was the valedictorian of his medical school class and the first Cuban physician to graduate from the prestigious Columbia University interventional cardiology fellowship program.During his fellowships, he focused on researching the pharmacogenetics of antiplatelet drugs, the role of cardiac imaging for the general cardiologist, and machine learning and artificial intelligence applications in structural valve disease. Hes published more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.Dr. Suarez seeks to develop a special connection and excellent communication with his patients. He ensures that his patients ask all of their questions, understand the treatment plan and can include their family in the decision-making process.When he is not treating patients, Dr. Suarez enjoys spending time with family, outdoor activities, traveling, exercising and gardening.
