The Jacksonville Public Library consists of 20 community and neighborhood branches and this location, the Main Library. This 300,000 sq. ft. library opened in 2005 as part of the Better Jacksonville Plan, which was voted on by Jacksonville citizens in September 2000. The Main Library is the cultural hub of downtown Jacksonville. With several permanent art exhibits, three rotating gallery spaces, a Makerspace, and gorgeous grand reading room, there is so much to see and for free! You do not need a library card to enjoy the art, and wealth of programs within these walls. Please visit and enjoy!
