The Hallandale Department of Public Works is a government department that provides various services to the Hallandale Beach community and manages public property. It has various divisions, such as engineering, sanitation, utilities, fleet services, construction, parks, street and landscape and grounds maintenance. Its utilities division coordinates water plant activities for water production, treatment and distribution and ensures the needs of potable water. It additionally provides other services, such as fire protection, sanitary collection and disposal of wastewater. The department also provides the Memorial Tree Program. The engineering division provides engineering and field engineering support for environmental, water, sewer, street, stormwater drainage, building and structural construction and other public works projects and programs. It also issues utility permits, maintains roads and bridges, drainage and sewer systems, and constructs various public structures, such as public restroom facilities, batting cages, racquetball and basketball courts and extensions of existing structures. The department is located in Hallandale Beach, Fla.
