Urogynecologist John Devine, MD, takes a consultative approach to medical care at The Center for Urogynecology and Female Pelvic Health, located in Venice, Florida.Dr. Devine received his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. He then completed a four-year residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Akron General Medical Center in Ohio. It was during his residency that he developed his passion for the field of urogynecology. Following his residency training, Dr. Devine was honored to be accepted into the Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship Program at the University of California Irvine, under the directorship of Donald Ostergard, MD, a world-renowned urogynecologist.Upon completion of his three-year fellowship, he returned to Akron, Ohio, and started the Northeast Ohio Urogynecology and Continence Center. In 2015 Dr. Devine brought his specialized training to the Venice, Florida, area to fill the need for a fellowship-trained urogynecologist in this community.Dr. Devine is a staff member and attending physician in the Departments of Gynecology at Doctor's Hospital of Sarasota and Venice Regional Bayfront Health.He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American Urogynecologic Society and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
