Church Mission Statement The mission and purpose of our congregation is clearly defined by the words of Jesus to His disciples, "And Jesus came up to them, saying All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you;and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28;18-20 Churchs Essential Values Statement: The purpose of the church is to glorify God by turning unchurched people into disciples of Christ. Our church seeks to accomplish our mission by remaining faithful to five essential values: -Exalting the Savior -Evangelizing the sinner -Equipping the servant -Employing the Spirit -Edifying the saints History Carrollwood Baptist Church was constituted on June 1, 1994. After much prayer and discussion, two existing congregations merged to form this new church. One of those congregations (Bay Area Baptist Church) had sold their property and was meeting in temporary locations. They had a full staff and financial resources, but without a permanent location, they were having difficulty reaching new families. The other congregation (First Baptist Church of Carrollwood) had good facilities but had lost its staff and was facing a financial crisis.
