CANTEX started more than 40 years ago, as a division of a national corporation in the utility and building construction industry. The plastics division expanded into several major categories including polyvinyl chloride conduit and fittings underground PVC ducts and fittings, PVC conduit and fittings for underground cable installations, PVC pipe for distribution and collection and PVC plumbing pipe. In 1992, Sumitomo Corporation acquired CANTEX. CANTEX has eight manufacturing facilities across the country. Production facilities include extrusion, injection molding and fabrication processes to produce the broad lines of PVC products which serve the power, utility, building construction and communications markets.
