For more than 75 years Brooks Tropicals has grown, packed and shipped a variety of tropical fruits and vegetables grown in southern Florida and throughout the Caribbean. Its more than 30 varieties of tropical fruits and vegetables include boniato, calabaza, star fruit, chayote, coconut, ginger, Key lime, kumquat, lime, lychee, malanga, mamey sapote, mango, papaya, scotch bonnet pepper, sugar cane, water coconut, yucca and avocado, all of which are marketed under the Brooks Tropicals brand name. The company s products are grown on more than 6,000 acres in Florida and Belize. Brooks Tropicals was founded by J.R. Brooks in 1928. It has headquarters in Homestead, Fla.
