Bay County Council on Aging is a private, nonprofit corporation governed by a board of directors. The organization provides services to more than 7,000 individuals through programs for elderly, disabled and low-income persons. It offers transportation services to medical appointments, grocery stores, pharmacies and congregate meal sites. Its community services are provided for low-income households to improve their lives, achieve self sufficiency and fulfill immediate life necessities. The organization also offers home services, including case management, assistance with household tasks, laundry, cleaning, companionship and respite care. Located in Panama City, Fla., the Bay County Council on Aging operates fellowship centers throughout the city. Its respite centers provide services for caregivers of senior adults who suffer from Alzheimer's disease. Its senior center organizes activities, such as ceramics, sketching, acrylic painting, water color painting, bingo, dancing, crafts and field trips.
