The United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers, based in Washington, D.C., has approximately 22,000 members participating in 11 regional district councils throughout the United States. Members enjoy participation in the National Roofing Industry Supplemental Pension, health and safety programs, as well as training and apprenticeship opportunities and cooperative labor-management research and education efforts. The union also sponsors the Roofers Political Education and Legislative Fund and works with various groups on safety and health issues. Organizing new members is a top priority, which the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers demonstrates through Construction Organizing Membership Education Training.
