Founded in 1971, Public Citizen is a community service organization, specializing in advocating for the interests of the citizen of the United States. Located in Washington, D.C., the company voices the interests of American citizens before the Congress, the executive branch agencies and courts. It has challenged the abusive practices of a variety of industries, including the pharmaceutical, nuclear and automobile industries, among others. The organization provides its services through its five services divisions, such as Congress Watch Division, The Energy Program, Global Trade Watch, The Health Research Group and Litigation Group.
