Financial Operations and Systems is a program offered by the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, which is administered by the government of the District of Columbia. The Office of the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the oversight and direct supervision of financial and budgetary functions, operating and maintaining a coordinated financial management system, preparing the city's annual budget and representing the district in federal appropriation processes. It also collects receipts, payments and transactions, develops, implements and monitors the district's accounting policies and performs tax expenditure analysis services. The office provides a variety of taxpayer and advisory services, as well as offers various communities outreach programs.
