Serving for more than 85 years, U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) is a corporate research laboratory serving the Navy and Marine Corps of the United States. NRL is a campus-like complex of diverse scientific facilities, with a staff of more than 2,500 researchers, engineers, technicians and support personnel. NRL has received various awards, including Nobel Prize, Bower Prize, Robert J. Collier Trophy, National Medals of Science and Technology, Roosevelts Gold Medal for Science and SES Awards. Some of the systems provided by NRL include global positioning systems, high frequency radio, moon relay, STU-III, radar, naval radar systems, monopulse radar, airborne radar, over-horizon radar and friend-or-foe system. It also offers rockets, such as V-2 Rockets, Aerobee, Rockoon, Nike Booster and NavSpaSur.
