The National Bar Association is the oldest and largest global network of predominantly Black American attorneys and judges, representing the interests of approximately 67,000 lawyers, judges, law professors, and law students. With over 80 chapters throughout the United States and affiliations with lawyer associations in Canada, the United Kingdom, Africa, Morocco, and the Caribbean, the NBA aims to advance the science of jurisprudence, uphold the honor of the legal profession, promote social intercourse among members of the bar, and protect the civil and political rights of all citizens.
Under the leadership of its 81st President, Dominique D. Calhoun, Esq., the NBA provides a platform for networking, professional development, and advocacy for its members. Through its various programs, conferences, and events, the NBA strives to increase diversity in the legal profession, support legislation that protects the economic interests of economically disenfranchised minorities, and provide attorneys with the necessary support and resources to stand for justice.
