The National Association for the Education of Young Children provides welfare, development and educational services to underprivileged children from birth through age eight. Founded in 1926, the National Association for the Education of Young Children has more than 100,000 members and a national network of over 300 local, state and regional affiliates. It publishes various educational resources, including books, videos and posters. Its journals include Young Children and Early Childhood Research projects. Its project, Supporting Teachers, Strengthening Families, supported by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, is designed for prevention of child abuse and neglect and promote children s social and emotional development. The National Association for the Education of Young Children is located in Washington, D.C.
