The National Academy of Public Administration is an independent, nonpartisan organization that offers various services to federal, state and local governments. It provides assistance with short- and long-term budgeting, performance measurement, human resources management, devolution of federal programs and strategic planning. The academy s more than 550 fellows include cabinet officers, governors, mayors, state legislators, diplomats, business executives, local public managers, foundation executives and scholars. The academy undertakes projects to analyze and evaluate broad structural, managerial and performance capacity issues in public institutions. Its economy and environment center explores ways to mobilize private and public resources. The academy s international programs center assists domestic agencies in organizing their international operations. The National Academy of Public Administration is located in Washington, D.C.
