Good standard pickup volleyball, with people that are pretty relaxed about the outcome, and fun to be around. There is also a second court for low-intermediate volleyball players.

Boys Club of Greater Washington

The Frank R. Jelleff Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington is open year-round at its Georgetown location on Wisconsin Avenue. Bulletin boards are covered with photos of smiling children playing sports, performing in talent shows or showing off artwork. Trophy cases line the hallways boasting the club's many successes during the years it has been in Georgetown. On weekday afternoons during the school year the club offers activities and homework help. The Jelleff Branch has a large basketball program in the winter; it also offers karate and music lessons throughout the year. The clubhouse is currently owned by the DC government and leased to the Boys & Girls Club on a month to month basis; hours and activities are subject to change. The city's ownership also means that after-school care and club memberships are free to DC residents.

Volta Park Recreation Center

Volta Park at the intersection of 34th Street and Volta Place offers a pool in the summer, two tennis courts, two basketball courts, a baseball field and a playground. The playground and sandbox are brimming with bigwheels, wagons and other children's toys; nearby benches offer seats for watchful parents. The Friends of Volta Park support the upkeep of the grounds and offer programming to serve the community. Donations and the annual Volta Park Weekend fund the group's efforts.
