History
The DC Bocce League was created by a group of friends looking to bring a different social and recreational experience to DC. DC Bocce has grown by leaps and bounds since its inception. Our first season lasted five weeks in the fall of 2004, and we began with ten teams and 50 players in Capitol Hill's Garfield Park. After 3 successful seasons we were able to construct 2 bocce courts in Garfield Park, the first for public use in DC. By 2009, DC Bocce had grown to 4 divisions across the city with games 3 nights a week for 6 weeks plus playoffs. We have two outdoor seasons per year (Spring and Summer) and in 2009-2010 we introduced Indoor Bocce for the Fall and Winter seasons. Now bocce lovers and newcomers can enjoy the game year round! In 2010 we'll be introducing new leagues in MD & VA. We hope to continue to spread the love of bocce, and we are happy that many of you have been with us from the beginning helping to spread the word. To everyone who's ever played, thank you.
