The United States Air Force delivers several independent services for the defense of the United States and its global interests, including flying and fighting in air, space and cyberspace. The department is headquartered in the Pentagon in Washington D.C. Its services are organized in nine major commands throughout the world, which provide combat aircraft, airlift, refueling, reconnaissance and other support to Unified Combatant Commands. The department also has more than three dozen field operating agencies and direct reporting units, which directly support its services. The United States Air Force offers a wide range of services that include development of airmen and technologies, warfighting training and integration of operations. The department s capabilities include air and space superiority, global attack, rapid global mobility, precision engagement, information superiority and agile combat support.
