Educational Service, Inc was founded in 1935 by Helen C. Collins, Ph.D., both to meet the tutorial needs of students in the greater Wilmington area, and to offer a private source of educational counsel to parents and professionals. Incorporated in 1965 and under the directorship of Tina Maida Masington since 1982, Educational Service, Inc continues to operate in a manner reflecting its founding philosophy, that is: helping students of all ages to maximize their potential and improve their self-image through well-planned, individualized intervention in the form of diagnostic educational testing and/or remedial, supportive, or enrichment tutoring. Educational Service, Inc also provides consulting services to parents and caregivers on all aspects of educational decision-making, as well as contracted instructional and testing services to public, charter, private and parochial schools. Our philosophy is reflected in our motto: "Education and Service with Integrity". Many of our instructors hold advanced degrees and/or specialized certifications. ESI is locally owned and operated, not franchised, nor computerized, and all individual tutoring is truly one-on-one and private. The Teaching Staff Educational Service, Inc is comprised, exclusively, of degreed professionals. Even those staff members who serve as Tutor, Service and Program Coordinators are trained teachers. While Neil R. Grobman, PhD. works as a Promotions Editor at a major local pharmaceutical company and published a science fiction novel, Lost in Redskirt Forest, in 2002, he is also a teacher at the secondary school level who has taught English, Folklore, and Mathematics in secondary high schools, a college, and several universities in his former teaching career. He has been tutoring for Educational Service since 1991. Neil's specialties include SAT and High School exam prep, mathematical subjects, and English and writing. In his spare time, Neil keeps the ESI office staff laughing, as he dreams up comical responses to in-house correspondence, There are countless area students who are grateful to Dr. Grobman for the academic help he has afforded them. Educational Service, Inc seeks to increase its professional tutorial staff from time to time. Interested certified teachers looking to fill part-time teaching and tutoring assignments in New Castle and Kent Counties here in DE and/or in nearby Chester County, PA and Salem County, NJ are invited to submit resumes and references. Advantages of joining the ESI team include flexible scheduling around your other activities and obligations. Our tutors have the freedom to consider only those assignments that interest them and are compatible with their skills. Also, as a local, privately owned service agency, ESI offers excellent compensation to our contractors. Currently, we especially need teachers who have expertise in reading remediation, learning disabilities, academic coaching, foreign languages, and higher math.
