Since 1876, Walnut Grove Cemetery has been situated on 127 and a half acres of rolling hills. With 40 to 50 thousand cemetery plots already in use, Superintendent Michael Kroll says this nonsectarian burial ground has enough land to last for 300 to 500 more years. Huge, isolated, and beautifully landscaped, this cemetery has a chapel, a crematorium and a memorial garden. Many notable Meriden citizens are buried here, including Walter Hubbard, the man for whom Hubbard Park was named.
