Located on Clovelly Road in Stamford's Glenbrook section, the Ukranian Museum and Library of Stamford holds the distinction of being North America's oldest Ukranian-established cultural institution. It was founded by Bishop Constantine Bohachevsky in 1933, and is curated by Lubow Wolynetz and directed by Msgr. John M. Terlecky. Housed in "The Chateau," a late 19th century 2nd Empirt-style villa that was once part of the Quintard Estate, museum collections include fine, folk and religious art, with online exhibits of embroidery, icons, old books, paintings and folk arts.
