The Garden Education Center is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to promoting horticulture, conservation and the arts through educational programs, outreach activities and special events.
Since its founding in 1957, the GEC has grown to offer a host of programs that include classes, lectures and author appearances. There are also activities for children, decorative and culinary art workshops, flower shows and garden tours. The organization also coordinates a number of plant sales.
The center's park location that sprawls over 100 acres, includes a greenhouse, gift shop and classroom.
Membership is open to all, and volunteers are welcome.
