The largest progressive Conservative synagogue east of the river, Beth Sholom B'nai Israel draws in more than 350 member-families from over 30 towns throughout central Connecticut. The synagogue prides itself on the "inclusive, warm and caring" feeling it tries to instills in all members (or, as the synagogue likes to refer to them as, "its family"). Features include a full-time rabbi and cantor, the Rabbi Leon Wind Religious School that runs from pre-k through high school, a friendly and courteous full-time support staff and a number of caring and devoted volunteers who strive to bring "an open heart and helping hand" to all members.
