Nestled in the heart of downtown Wallingford is St. Paul's Nursery School. This nonprofit organization, tucked behind St. Paul's Episcopal Church, offers both a nursery school program and an afternoon kindergarten program. The nursery school meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 11:30am for 3-year-olds and on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 9am to 11am for 4- to 5-year-olds. The Nursery School curriculum features a program of language development, math concepts, social studies, science program, art, music and physical education. The school also encourages parent involvement through volunteer time in the classroom, on field trips or during its several events throughout the year including a Thanksgiving feast, Spring Egg hunt and Mother's Day celebration.
The afternoon Kindergarten Child Care program meets Monday thru Friday from noon to 5:30 pm. This program begins with lunch time brought from home, followed by outdoor time, circle time including music and reading, a creative activity time, snack time and quiet time before dismissal. This program follows the Wallingford School System schedule and offers bus transportation to St. Paul's from school if needed. Scholarships are available for those who qualify. For more information on the school or to set up a visit parents are encouraged to contact the school at 203-269-1712.
