The Quinnipiac River Watershed Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring and protecting the Quinnipiac River and its watershed area. This waterway has a history of waste disposal. However, the QRWA has been instrumental in getting the river cleaned up and ready for shared use. The organization brings together agencies, scientists and volunteers for a variety of conservation and recreation-related activities, from lifting migratory fish over a dam in Wallingford to building osprey nest platforms in North Haven to hosting the longest running canoe and kayak race in Connecticut.
